Our Past
| |
 |
Brandon Street Community Development Foundation is a public charitable
organization which was started in 1987. The organization was born out
of the need to help urban youth combat the lack of positive role models
and to assist in the development of worthy goals and the acquisition
of valuable life skills.
The organization has primarily fulfilled its mandate through partnerships.
Two of our earliest collaborations were with the church and service
clubs. We work hard to avoid program duplication. We identify programs
that fit the youth profile we are committed to supporting and bring
resources to bear on these areas. If nothing exists in an area that
we are firmly committed to, we will create a new program to accomplish
our goals. |
Our Present
| |
 |
Brandon Street CDF youth enjoy a wide variety of business and
non-business workshops which provide a solid foundation for wise
career choices and opportunities for networking and fulfilment
of mentorship needs. For the artistically-inclined, our youth
choir and Archie Alleyne mentorship program and scholarship fund
provide an outlet for talent and financial assistance to higher
scholastic achievement. For the career ready, our Taking Care
of Business seminars are a must.
