  BRANDON STREET
     Where Business and Community Meet

Brandon Street Community Development Foundation (Brandon Street CDF) is a charitable foundation that seeks to mentor youth to strive for excellence. Since 1987, Brandon Street CDF has been effective in helping youth expand their horizons and transform their lives.

We offer development programs to urban youth, ages 6 - 24. We provide youth with the chance to interact with key role models to improve their access to opportunities and experiences. Through contact with mentors, educators and business leaders, we encourage youth to adopt meaningful goals, commit to personal development and contribute to their surrounding communities.

QUESTION:   What Do Young People Really Want?

       The answer is quite simple:

to have positive goals and desires
 honored and encouraged

to be shown how to achieve their goals
 with clarity

to have a positive environment to
 achieve their goals

Through mentorship sessions, seminars, workshops and suggested readings, Brandon Street CDF has made available information and support to put youth on a track to more empowered living.

We present youth with information that demonstrates a range of alternative choices. For those who are ready and motivated, access to such information could open a whole new vista of life possibilities.

Brandon Street Strikes Gold

The Self Esteem Academy has struck gold among its youth participants. On Wednesday March 28, 2007, our group competed at York University's Burton Auditorium in the Kiwanis Festival Dance Competition. Youth Competed in two categories jazz and hip hop and earned the highest marks in both categories. After further review of the tapes, Festival officials awarded our group a monetary scholarship for their work in jazz.

Our youth also earned a first place finish in Public Speaking and a third place finish in choir. Well done team!

Here's the group with their instructor Sarah Francis after their dance competition.
